What type of mortgage do I need?

There are different types of mortgages that include variable rates and tracker rates. A variable rate can change and is charged at the lender’s rate with no specified period. A tracker rate mortgage also follows a bank rate but is usually slightly lower. This is for a period of time, likely a two-year fixed or five-year fixed period.

How much deposit do I need?

Most lenders accept a 10% deposit of the homes value. There are some cases that allow a 5% deposit of the home.
The larger the deposit, it should mean a better interest rate available to you.

What is remortgaging?

A remortgage is taking out a mortgage on the home you own. This usually happens when the deal comes to an end or if you are looking to come off a variable rate.
